Re: Turning a design into a negative
I guess a little more in depth explanation of what I am trying to accomplish is in order. First off, thank you for your replies, it is greatly appreciated. I am designing clock faces to be printed on both archival type paper and on to copper to be etched. For the paper dials there will not be a need...

Turning a design into a negative
After SEARCHing and ADVANCED Searching I am deferring to the expertise of this board for some help. I am building some basic designs for silkscreening and need to turn the designs to a NEGATIVE of what I desire to print to transfer the image to the silk screen. I've tried different approaches within...

Re: Creating circles etc...
Lazur and tylerdurden, thank you so much for your information. Being so new to Inkscape let alone a svg program I'm not sure if I fully understand your answers. BUT, I do get the gist of it. This did lead me to utilize my basic understanding to come up with a solution.
Thanks again, GregoryV

Creating circles etc...
Is there a way to create a circle from the center out instead of from the outer edge of the circumference. That way I have a circle that I can grab and position in relation to the center of the circle than from the edge. This leads me to another question. Can I start creating a circle and then type ...

Re: Drawing and Printing in inches vs pixels
Thank you so much for the reply. The only thing I will be doing is making a basic drawing in black and white, approx 6"x 6". This will then be saved to a thumb drive to be printed at KINKOS, at the same size 6x6. Sounds like I can just stay in SVG format thru out the process.

Re: Drawing and Printing in inches vs pixels
Thank you both, Lazur and Pilosopong for the feedback. Is there a difference in printing an svg file versus saving that file as a pdf? Do they turn out different?

Drawing and Printing in inches vs pixels
I have been working through Tavmjong Bah's Guide to Vector Drawing tutorials and topics. This has been a great help to someone just starting out. The discussion on setting up a workspace of say 600 X 600 px is good for my initial drawings, but would like to set up the workspace to a size of 6 inches...
