Re: Has Inkscape fixed it's ppi issue yet?
@Xav, Krita tells me that they are Not like Photoshop, but that InkScape is like Photoshop - hence the reason I came here. However, Krita and IncScape are used for all the things we use Photoshop for (brochure, logos, banners) (..... as for GIMP, that is the most worthless piece of software ever dev...

Re: Has Inkscape fixed it's ppi issue yet?
InDesign can't do all the things PhotoShop can do. Not sure why anyone would use InDesign, it's rather pointless.
However Affinity Designer does everything I need, so I am switching to that.
Raspi, if you're such a fan of PhotoShop, why are you on an InkScape forum?

Re: Has Inkscape fixed it's ppi issue yet?
We've never used Photoshop to edit photos other than to clip them to size, but we can do that with any program. I've never worked with anyone who actually edited photos using PhotoShop, there are much better programs for that. I'm not sure any of us would even know how to use it in that way. Photosh...

Re: Has Inkscape fixed it's ppi issue yet?

InkScape does nearly everything Photoshop does and more. InkScape doesn't automatically create a new layer for every object and it's a bit clunky (but it's free) InkScape opens .ai files which Photoshop doesn't and InkScape creates vector images. No one uses Photosh...

Re: Has Inkscape fixed it's ppi issue yet?
@tylerdurden DING! DING! DING!! We have a Winner!! $50 is worth it. 5 minutes with the trial download and I'm hooked. Affinity does one big thing that all the FOSS software didn't and that is automatically make each element/object a separate layer. That in itself is huge! @Everyone thank you soooo m...

Re: Has Inkscape fixed it's ppi issue yet?
@Moini, Scribus can't properly open AI files. I have it on my laptop, when I tried to open AI files much of the files is missing. @Lazur, I'll give Sk1 a try next. Thank you. It's downloading now. GIMP is not an option. If I had the power to end GIMP - I would. I would rather pay for the latest vers...

Re: Has Inkscape fixed it's ppi issue yet?
@Moini, Scribus is terrible at opening AI files and you can't create .eps files.
I liked Krita, but it can't save in PDF. I like InkScape the best, but I have 7 questions I need to find answers to before I know for sure.

Re: Has Inkscape fixed it's ppi issue yet?
@shawnhcorey, Many of the trifolds and flyer templates I use were created in AI and need AI for editing.
Nearly all of the templates I purchase were created using AI. That's why I'm thinking that InkScape would be better than a photo editor.

Is there a tutorial to make a jpg curve? Or what's it called?
I'm not exactly sure what to call this, so trying to find a YouTube video is becoming impossible.
I need to make a jpg image curve up slightly on both ends.
Please - What should I search for? What is that called?
https://www.dropbox.com/s/sfqt8pg71sp74 ... e.jpg?dl=0
Thank you

Re: Has Inkscape fixed it's ppi issue yet?
I thought Inkscape was supposed to be like Photoshop? I have GIMP, but I just hate it. I actually hate it more than the expense of Photoshop - and that's saying something lol If Inkscape is not like Photoshop, then other than GIMP, can you tell me what other open source program is? I would rather do...

Re: Has Inkscape fixed it's ppi issue yet?
I would rather continue to use Photoshop than ever use GIMP. I hate that program. It's horrible. Inkscape is a million times better than GIMP could ever be.

How to move canvas?
I enlarge the canvas so I could see what I was doing, but I can't move the canvas over to see the part of the image that I need to see. The scroll at the bottom only adjusts the colors and the mouse only adjust up and down. How do I adjust the canvas right and left so I can see what I need to edit? ...

Re: Has Inkscape fixed it's ppi issue yet?
I'm more worried about what a PDF of a trifold will look like. I need them to be of the highest quality to give to clients for printing. Printers expect 300ppi to 600ppi. Guess I'll make a few and print them to see what happens. I really want to get away from Photoshop. Fingers crossed. Thank you fo...

Re: Has Inkscape fixed it's ppi issue yet?
pixels per inch = ppi I like to set the ppi between to 300 to 600 when creating projects. I've been editing trifolds and flyers in Inkscape that were originally created in ai. I was told by the people at Krita that the ppi could be set in Inkscape, but I remember when I first tried Inkscape a while ...

Manipulating a picture image
I brought a .jpg image into Inkscape. I need to curve the sides of the image up somewhat so it looks like a label wrapped around a jar.
Is there away to take that image and just pull the sides up slightly? Make it curve a little?
Thank you.

Has Inkscape fixed it's ppi issue yet?
When I tried Inkscape years ago I couldn't set the ppi I wanted for the image I was creating. I'm wondering if that has been fixed?
Also I'm hunting around for the layers pallet and can't find it anywhere - could I get a hint please?
Thanks.
