Dunno. As far as I understand, you need to use an external converter like ps2ai.ps
If you're using Windows, here's a nice write up on how to convert ps to ai... might try that.

Re: Please urgent export eps and ai
I use Flexi for my plotter and it imports Inkscapes EPS just fine...
Actually, come to think of it, I did have an error once and discovered that Flexi will import SVG's.
Will Roland's software import a vector? If so, be sure to save it as "Plain SVG"

Re: I wish I knew what I was doing... (exporting PNG)
Okay... to continue this discussion, I tried an experiment last night and now I'm confused: What if, I set my page size in Pixles to 780x1081 and then render it out. If I want to render it to 100% (780x1081) exporter tells me it will be 90dpi. Is that normal? Is rendering a 780x1081 at 90dpi the sam...

Re: I wish I knew what I was doing... (exporting PNG)
On the initial subject, in case you haven't heard of it: BoardGameGeek DIYers seem keen on a company called Artscow, which has a web-based interface for creating user-defined card packs cheaply (for prototyping, at least). Never done it myself, though. Oh, trust me, I've been a BGGer since 03. I de...

Re: I wish I knew what I was doing... (exporting PNG)
Inkscape isn't lying to you lol. The size you get when you export to 200dpi is correct. To get enough quality for picture to view it on screen it is enough to have 72 dpi. That means there are 72 dots, or dot color information per one inch of the picture. For printing it is usually considered you n...

Re: I wish I knew what I was doing... (exporting PNG)
Is it polite to answer yourself? I was going to delete the post, but maybe someone was wondering this same thing and will one day search for it. Apparently, when it gets to the printer, size doesn't matter... dpi does. So, if you take a 2.6x3.6 drawing and step it up to 300dpi, you get a 780x1080 im...

I wish I knew what I was doing... (exporting PNG)
...because I really hate asking newb questions. :) Okay. Here's what I've got: I'm working on self-producing a small card game. I've used Inkscape to do the layout and all the art for the cards and they look great, problem is, my printer needs me to submit individual images (PNG, JPEG, whatever) to ...

Blur and .pdf
Using the .pdf converter in Inkscape, if I have a blurred box that is reduced in opacity, when it goes to pdf, the box is not blurred... instead, a border is added which was never there.... Is there a .pdf converter that can handle blurring objects properly? Am I doing something wrong? Thanks! Chevee

Re: Inkscape and Linux
Do a google search on Portable Ubuntu, or Portable Linux and you should find plenty of resources. I did that... I was quite amazed at the number of distros. Is there a place I can search linux distros that allows me to pick what I want? Ie. Debian Based Gnome NOT KDE etc... Thanks for the help! Che...

Re: Black and white
I am exporting to .png for print. The image, I am hoping, will be used to create a rubber stamp... so it has to be black and white only. No grey pixles. The company I use has no idea what .svg is, so I have to give them the image in a "normal" graphics format. When I go to gimp/etc and bla...

Black and white
I made a black and white only graphic, which I need to export really small (1"x1") and when I do so, I get a greyscale image. Is there any way to prevent this? I need clean black and white line art. I thought the whole point of .svg was that I could shrink things and retain clarity... am I...

Inkscape and Linux
Hi! I'm a casual Linux user and I'm looking for some assistance with the following scenario: I don't own a laptop. I'm frequently around DIFFERENT PCs. I'd like to take my projects with me so I can work whenever I'm around a PC. So... I'd like to get a jumpdrive that I can store a Linux distro on, a...

[solved] Combining objects
Okay, I'm apparently not doing something right... so bear with me here: I made two paths. Both using the pen and containing multiple nodes. After drawing, I want to combine the paths into one object. So, in theory I should: Select both paths Ctrl - K to combine the two paths into one object Shift - ...
