That is because there is no debian checkout sub-directory in inkscape-0.91 folder. I could not succeded to build a *.deb packege of inkscape in debian wheezy, e.g. through "apt-get -b source inkscape=0.91-3" due to dependencies problems (0.91 is in debian experimental), which are not solve...
