Just tried the 7z. No luck.

Re: Inkscape error message and forced shut down
HAHA! No problem! I learned something new, that's all.
It's a Toshiba.
Thanks for your help with this. I'm going crazy not being able to use it! I'll try the 7z.

Re: Inkscape error message and forced shut down
Well, I tried changing the location to Program Files (x86) and it didn't change anything. Still failed after a couple minutes and the memory was about 325,000 K.

Re: Inkscape error message and forced shut down
I am wanting to install the 32 bit version. My computer shows it is a 32 bit system, but there is no (x86) file. It is always putting it in 'Program Files' not (x86) as it doesn't exist. Can I just create it?

Re: Inkscape error message and forced shut down
It looks like all of the files have been deleted. When installing, it goes in to Program FIles, NOT the (x86) file.
Should I be installing the exe, msi, or 7z. In the past the one I've tried has been the exe.

Wow! You're great!
I just created an account and subscribed to the bug.
So, I guess I just can't use Inkscape until this gets resolved! Dang! Sure hope it's an easy fix.
Thanks so much for sticking with me on this!

Re: Inkscape error message and forced shut down
Do you have experience doing such things? If it's get worked out faster by you posting it, I have no qualms with that!
I'm just not super computer savvy (as I'm sure you've figured out!)

Re: Inkscape error message and forced shut down
I am most often using the Bezier tool and manipulating nodes on a path. However, it has happened when playing with text too. It usually only goes 3-5 minutes before crashing. From the command line application? Are you wanting a notepad version of the screenshot? I tried to copy/paste but it wouldn't...

Here are the screenshots of what happened. I hope this makes sense to someone 'cause it doesn't make sense to me! There is some overlap between the first and second. http://imageshack.com/a/img921/3620/cZpmhH.jpg http://imageshack.com/a/img924/252/L775cl.jpg http://imageshack.com/a/img922/8738/OdurI...

Re: Inkscape error message and forced shut down
I can just open the inkscape program, not an inkscape file, and start playing around with Bezier curves then it'll die.

Re: Inkscape error message and forced shut down
Sorry for all of the questions.
When you say 'command line application' you are referring to something other than the start menu search bar. It opens Inkscape but I don't think it would give me the crash report. Is there certain program I should be looking for?
Thanks for all of your help.

Re: Inkscape error message and forced shut down
How can I tell if there is a tag that is not closed?
It does it on all files. Even if I open a fresh one and start drawing Bezier paths. I say Bezier paths since that is what I'm doing in the other files...trying to clean up a hand drawn sketch.

Re: Inkscape error message and forced shut down
I have windows 7, 32 bit With opening it from the terminal, when I check the processes in Windows Task Manager, it keeps using a higher and higher amount of memory. Right now it is at 128,948 K. That is with nothing happening in the program. I only opened it. However, when using it, it seems to cras...

Re: Inkscape error message and forced shut down
I have 4GB of RAM and the file size is 263 KB. I was watching how much it was using while it was open and it goes to about 315,000 K it crashes. But just by opening the program, no file or anything, and not doing anything with it, it goes to 100,000 K or higher. What are the system requirements for ...

I'll give .92 a try. Does .92 not like a lot of text for some reason?
