nice good idea! But as I see, in this case the remaining object (red) will have the area of the original object minus the width of their lines, correct? I really need precision in this, so how can I make this remaining object with exact difference of those shapes?

I think it would be much more intuitive if the software used the selection order to know which one is the first and which one is the second. If I select shape A first it should be the first and the result should be A - B just like in maths

Thank you so much guys. So there is no way to see a list of all the objects in the page? Sometimes one object is behind another and we may "lose" it, it there is some sort of list anywhere I could easily find the objects. Do you think there is at least some button that shows all the object...

So the difference workes like that? The topmost element gets subtracted from the bottommost? is that?

Hi, check the image attached. On Corel I can set the position of an object based on 9 points, but on Inkscape I see that I can only set the position based on the bottom left corner, I mean, all the X and Y position that I set on Inkscape are based on the bottom left corner of the element. Difference tool does not look working
Hi,
Please take a look at the third imge below, which is what I have. When I make the difference of the objects I get the second image wihch is not correct. It should have produced the first image (part in blue) as a result. Why it's not working?

Where is the object manager window
Hi, on COREL there is a window on the right that shows the OBJECT MANAGER where I can see all th objects inserted on the document, I can hide them and group them in layers. Where do I need to click to show this object manager in inkscape?
