Re: Picture to People project updates
I was tired of the same old carving effects based on some variation of directional Laplacian, so I created a much more complex and realistic one. Some of its main features: - suitable to photos; - tries to be realistic without to be to much destructive concerning spacial information; - tries to keep...

Artistic vexel drawings from photos
Now Picture to People online branch (the official site) has a very innovative and powerful (highly configurable) artistic vexel renderer based on photos. Since it's not an obvious tool (at least if you wanna know how to use all of it), I will make a tutorial about it when I have time. If you have an...

Re: Effects for photos and text
I still see the artifacts, don't you? I've never seen those kind of artifacts on anything else than a jpg, and from my experience it doesn't matter if you saved it as 1% compression loss, quality loss can be greater and it happens when you want to use jpg for a picture with lots of areas of equal c...

Re: Effects for photos and text
Nice website with lots of useful stuff. I'll play with the effects when I catch some time. There are artifacts in the header image because it lost in quality while saving in jpg format. Try saving it in png or gif, maybe even break the image into several smaller ones. You should have a separate fil...

Re: Effects for photos and text
About the bad artefacts in the banner: I have a good old 21'' CRT monitor, where these artefacts doesn't appear. Nowadays LCD monitors tend to "overbright" dark (almost black) pixels and gamma correction can affect this too. I believe you and I will remove the flaws when I have time. I hav...

Effects for photos and text
Maybe you could like to have a look at a new site that offers, among other things, free effects for photos and text: http://www.picturetopeople.org. Inkscape was one of the inspirations to release all of this for free. It has been made absolutely from scratch with new Computer Graphics libraries, ev...

Re: Message for Inkscape Team
I will not put my site address here because you could think it's a spam. If your software does not really relate to Inkscape, but you think the Inkscape community might be interested, feel free to post a link in the Offtopic forum. I tend to only treat something as Spam if you are trying to promote...

Message for Inkscape Team
I couldn't find another place to post this, so I'm posting here (a couldn't find a proper email in Inkscape site). I have been studying and researching about Compute Graphics Math and Development for more than 15 year. From some time ago, Inkscape was my main inspiration to start publishing graphic ...
