How to achieve rotational symmetri
Hi I'm looking for the best way to create hour markers on an analog watch dial. What I want is to only create 1 hour marker and then activate a "rotational symmetri function" that places this hour marker in intervals of e.g. 30 degrees. The workaround I have to use now is that I create the...

Re: Bad quality export to PNG
Ok. Now I've tried the same thing with v 0.48 dev r13348 and I still get the same result. PixelSnap enabled on objects. :-( I guess I have to make some overlap. In Inkscpae: http://server.lodin.biz/share/graphics/icons/eld_logo/inkscape_bug/vector3.PNG From bitmap export: http://server.lodin.biz/sha...

Re: Bad quality export to PNG
Yes indeed Lazur! But this is just a small part of the entire logo which is a band that overlaps itself a few times and the parts need different fill effects. I can reduce the number of seams but not eliminate them. A feasible workaround is definitely to make some overlap. But I would like to avoid ...

Re: Bad quality export to PNG
Solved! Thanks for the explenation on the seam-issue. I'll download the dev version and try that. :-) Regarding the noisy colors: Yes! That's the export dialog I use. The images are not zoomed in at all. Just taken as is, by the snippet tool. Inkscape page size: 3200x1800 Export bitmap size: 1920x10...

Re: Bad quality export to PNG
Thanks Ragnar! I've tried this now and at first I thought it worked to solve the seam-issue... but it simly created overlap. When rearranging the nodes to actually snap to the SAME "pixels" (not making the objects to overlap) the issue came back. Inkscape with Pixel Snapped objects: http:/...

Bad quality export to PNG
Hi! I just exported my new logo i created in Inkscape to a large bitmap ca 1000x1000px and the end result was horrible. I haven't seen these issues before... The colours are noisy (especially the shadows) and The seams between objects are visible even though there is no space between them In inkscap...

Sweden calling!
Hi! I'm a 36-year old guy from Sweden that regret not going to art school. ;) Instead I studied engineering and mess around with graphics on my spare time. I picked up sketching again a few years ago after a period of digital photography and photoshopping. Looking for tips and tricks on the Internet...

Re: Best (good) way of working?
Now we're talking! There are, just as you say, many ways to skin this cat. I had to research the "Pattern along path" and found this video to be enlightening. This technique seems promising. Thanks for the tip. Dillerkind's art is really impressive but not quite the style I'm looking for i...

Re: Best (good) way of working?
Lazur URH, my savior! :) This is kind of the style I'm looking for: http://www.colourbox.com/preview/4832249-808340-cartoon-super-hero-running-punching.jpg If you look at the black "outlines" and detail. I want to achieve the same effect of varying thickness and smoothness. For me it is im...

Re: Your first Inkscape drawing
And now for something completely different...
I might have done something before this but I'm not sure.

Best (good) way of working?
Hi! I'm currently drawing/tracing a cartoon-like character and trying to figure out the best way to do it. The reference image I've done (in Gimp) is only a sketch and a lot of drawing of details is stil required. My plan was to do this detailed work in Inkscape directly but I'm still looking for th...

Change thickness of Freehand Ellipse
Hi!
I like the Freehand tool with the ability to select smoothing. I also like the Ellipse shape using Freehand but when drawing details the thickness is way too thick.
Is there a way to change the thickness for this tool?
