Rotating
This is the kind of problem that I would like to have resolved myself through some research but after a little while I still can't find the explanation for what I need. Basically I have a rectangle that has been rotated so it's on it's side (around 30 degree angle lets say). I want to snap it back i...

Re: Page Layout for Printing
Okay I'm giving this a go again now, and before I do just a couple of Q's: When I save as a pdf, there is a window that appears with a bunch of options. I would love to have someone explain what they all mean and which ones are important to understand etc. Covert text to paths (checked) Omit text it...

Re: Is there a way to get a water reflection effect?
^thought about that but it's always a good idea to keep things simple in logos and not let them get too busy. I think so anyway.

Re: Is there a way to get a water reflection effect?
So this is what I've come up with so far using jitter nodes and then playing around with them slightly to get the desired ripple look.

Yep jitter nodes are fantastic for what I'm trying to achieve. Thanks a bunch!

Re: Is there a way to get a water reflection effect?
^Thanks flamin! I can already tell that this might work, or at least get the closest effect to what I want. Cheers.

Re: Duplicating gradients
I understand that, but I am in a situation where I would like to thicken up the shapes in the position they are in without looking like they have an outline. That's essentially my predicament.

Duplicating gradients
Okay I want to keep this real simple because I know, intrinsically it probably is. I have a shape. I have applied a linear gradient to it. I need for it to have a stroke that doesn't show, so I want the stroke to be the exact same gradient I have applied to the shape fill. I am so confused by the gr...

Re: Is there a way to get a water reflection effect?
This is so comprehensive! Thanks for all your time and effort helping me get this effect! Unfortunately none of what I have seen however is exactly what I want, it's all too detailed for a logo. I honestly think the water ripples effect only really works when there is at least some detail so I don't...

Is there a way to get a water reflection effect?
I'm doing a logo and need to create a water reflection effect similar to this: http://www.shutterstock.com/cat.mhtml?lang=en&search_source=search_form&version=llv1&anyorall=all&safesearch=1&searchterm=sunset+water+reflection&search_group=&orient=&search_cat=&searc...

Re: Envelope Deformation
Interesting - thanks for the reply. I actually gave your suggestion a shot...before you posted it! It worked quite well, much better than what the envelope deformation did. There's always a way! Haven't tried the tweak tool, ever. Will look into it.

Hey, does anyone own a good A3 laser colour printer? I am in the market for one and I am trying to do as much research as possible about what to get. I think the best thing to do though is to ask other people what they use and what they think. I am not going to be a frequent user of it, but I do wan...

Thanks. I've rendered it a few different ways since so it actually looks even better in my opinion but this is the basic layout.

Envelope Deformation
Hi! I currently have a fairly rigid, square text that I am trying to give a slight curvature on the top and the bottom. I want the top to curve down and the bottom up, so I'm shrinking it a bit in the middle. However I'm having a bit of trouble maintaining the squareness of the letters when I do thi...

Re: Page Layout for Printing
Thanks druban! I'm just wondering though, what difference is it to do that as opposed to saving the individual images as pdf's when I had issues at the printer with them? Won't the same thing happen? Maybe I'm doing something wrong when I save them, though I wouldn't have a clue what. I just thought...

Page Layout for Printing
I have several svg. images files which I want printed out on the same page (A3). I took these images to the printer and they asked that I converted them to pdf. as they weren't converting to their system very well. (I'm kinda new to the game so forgive me). Even after I did that, they still suffered...

Re: Your first Inkscape drawing
Hi all, new here. I've been playing around on inkscape for about a year now and recently finished my first project which was a logo for a football supporters club. Took me some time, but I'm quite a perfectionist when it comes to logos so this was my first effort on ye ol' inkscape. http://i207.phot...
