Re: paisley pattern
Ignore the text question, I think I've got it. What was happening in the version I have. I was pressing/trying each of the Text icons that appear in the top toolboxes and while they open the right hand column and you can work from there - they don't seem to open whats required to make spacing change...

Re: paisley pattern
BTW: I've decided to use Moderna as the font for each logo but when I try to use it to spell out PROJECTS the CTS all overlap each other. Is there anyway I can space out the letters in inkscape as you can in fireworks or psd? I'm sure there is but looking in Text I cant see anything... moderna- proj...

Re: paisley pattern
Hi All, Yep got it working when the images are split into single logos, so thanks for your help. However every time I make one single change I have to then minimise the page and then open it again before I can do the next change or it still won't work? I'm using a 64 bit processor with 8gb ram and w...

Re: paisley pattern
Thanks Moini, Lazur I'll have a look at all of these options in the morning if that's ok :) What I have done is split each of the parts that were on one page to separate pages for each logo. Primarily to see if it made any difference or if not to see if the image was then small enough to upload so s...

Re: paisley pattern
Not sure how to use dropbox Snapping? - how do I know if I have and how to disable it? I started off with a design by simple videos but while I used the general kind of flow, I have created elements of my own. Thats been part of the learning curve as I wanted to ensure the eventual designs were mine...

Re: paisley pattern
I really like inkscape and getting to know more about what it can do but this does seem to happen a lot, so I'm wondering if there is a go-to solution?
I have searched for tool errors, or text errors but can't find anything on the forum that's helped.
Thanks...

Re: paisley pattern
This one (really is a journey) as I have three images to make using the finished paisley pattern and the only change is the text font. So I've split them up to try to keep the file sizes down, however when I now go back to make the text changes - Nothing works!! When I try to upload the image I'm be...

Re: paisley pattern
* Group all the objects that you need to cut through. * Draw a rectangle that encloses the group, with a stroke but no fill. I can group the object I need to cut through. There is only two the one with the flowers which is on top and the white one directly behind it. When I then try to draw a rectan...

This is exactly what I'm asking Xav :) Tried your instructions but it's not happening for me. * Edit > Paste In Place to put a copy of the black shape on top of the rectangle in the z-order. * Select both the copy and the rectangle and use Path > Difference to create your inverse clip path. * Select...

Re: paisley pattern
Thanks for all of your help everyone and I really mean that :) I've learned a lot more about inkscape thanks to you. Re: paisley pattern
Hi Moini,
I tried going Edit>Undo History.
Then taking every element individually and Path>Object to path but still the problem is there?
But thanks for the suggestion anyway

Re: paisley pattern
I did have to make changes to two of the insets as they had become a bit distorted and I don't know if doing that disturbed the natural flow of things within the image?

Re: paisley pattern
Hi All, I've just been trying to find out all I can about inserting images and changing colours. Re: Fill issue on Windows?
You're right too on the generate from path that is what I used.
I have used scatter too and while it works great for circles and the like, for these kind of triangles I couldn't get it to work.
I managed to get it looking ok by making changes to the settings in - pattern along path.

Re: Fill issue on Windows?
Hi Brynn and thank you for this
I'm not following that tutorial anymore.
Thought it best to try to find out as much as I can for more recent posts on here or other tutorials that are more up to date.
I did manage to put a fill colour in another similar image but cant seem to nail this one?
