Re: inkscape and android

Good idea, but there are an awful lot of libraries and dependencies to be ported across with Inkscape. For instance; glib, GTK, poppler, cairo, libMagick, pango, libjpg, libpng. I used to have a bit with these on the windows platform, but I'm definitely not the guy to be talking to about porting the...

Re: New Inkscape Extension: Replace Font

@ wmora2 If you are really having trouble and desperate to do this, you can tell it to convert text to paths, though this will increase the complexity and size of the output file quite a lot, but it bypasses any font issues.

Re: Windows Crash Encountered and Solved

Thanks ~suv. Your help is greatly appreciated. My apologies for using quote, rather than code or attach - point taken. I did doctor that file a bit because it was crashing Inkscape. To make the version that crashed, I opened a new file and created a new filter in a document, but then deleted the gra...

Re: Windows Crash Encountered and Solved

Hi, Saving the svg file into the Windows 7 "C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Inkscape\filters" directory no longer crashes things after modifying the file. But no joy in terms of adding anything to the menu. Here's the contents of the file I've made named MikesFilters.svg. I've compared...

Excellent ~suv!

I was thinking of trying that next, but hadn't had a chance.

Much appreciated. Rygle.

Windows Crash Encountered and Solved

The short story is that from within Inkscape I saved an SVG file into the Inkscape program directory on Windows 7, and it caused a crash that was a little difficult to fix, even after uninstalling and reinstalling Inkscape. Lesson learned: Don't save files into the Inkscape program directory within ...

Re: Windows XP Build Linking Errors

You probably need to do a "btool clean" whenever you change the dev libs (mentioned by sas), or if you notice that the buildtool.cpp file is updated, in which case you should delete btool and rebuild it by typing "mingwenv" followed by "g++ buildtool.cpp -o btool". As o...

Re: .46 printing problems (Windows)

Hi guys, In the http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/ReleaseNotes046%20release%20notes (who reads them??), it says that there are some known problems with printing. Anyway, the workaround for pretty much every printing problem is to go Print, then select the rendering tab, then select bitmap and ...

Your problem is that the version you've got is for Leopard. They're still working on the Mac version. Take a look here; http://www.nabble.com/Inkscape-0.46-for-Mac-OS-Tiger-td16284236..html

Re: Inkscape 0.46 Released!

New version of Windows only 0.46pre4 on Sourceforge, with the missing dll. Should be fully sorted with new libcairo-2.dll in a few days (which only looks for libpng13.dll). Please test this version, and if we don't find any major bugs we will move to a proper 0.46 release early next week. Please rep...

Mac/Ubuntu users - please check install help wiki entry

Hi, While helping a friend start the install process on a Mac today, I checked out the wiki to find nothing there about the Mac process. So I wrote my own section, including the X11 drama. Problem is, I don't have a Mac of my own, and I can't verify what I've written. I won't see my friend to finish...
