Scaled documents
Hi, I'm trying to wrap my head around how the scaling and viewport works in the Inkscape Document Settings. Anyone who can point me to some useful documentation? I tried changing the scale to 25, but a 2 meter line still didn't fit on my A4 paper... (by about 1.79 m actually). So the scaled down lin...

Re: Help! How to 'rotate canvas'?
Hey, just wanting to chip in to this topic for a moment too... Apart from the artistic/motoric reason to be able to rotate your canvas, I have a different one. I often have to draw fire escape plans for our schools. Every now and then, the buildings are not all aligned 90° towards each other. So it ...

Re: Image not showing correctly in browsers
Hi, I'm sorry and you're all correct: I don't abide to standards - because there are too much standards to know them all. I'm just creating a floor plan for our hackerspace and by far I'm not an architect, engineer or designer. Handy when planning where to have what kinds of space usage, and to see ...

Re: Image not showing correctly in browsers
Maestral, unfortunately moving the axis (page border) is not an option at this moment: I'm using the coordinates to position everything. Scaling everything down to paper format would make it really difficult to add items afterwards. When exporting the picture (I always use "drawing" as def...

Re: Text "sticking" together
Hi Fran,
often when importing vector objects I notice these items are grouped multiple times (groups of 1).
Have you tried ungrouping the file more than once?
If you look in the status bar, what kind of object does it say it is if you select it? Is it still a group? Or is it something else?

Re: Image not showing correctly in browsers
Hi Lazur, thanks for your reply. As this is a really large building, I actually created the image to scale 1cm eq. 1m. and this results in an image larger than the available paper format. And indeed, I used the zero base as top of the building plan. Maestral, why would you want a bitmap export? It l...

Image not showing correctly in browsers
Hi,
I created a floor plan in Inkscape - from scratch - but when trying to view it in any browsers, I only get a black line at the bottom. Anyone has a clue?

Thanks,
Jurgen.
