I am following a inkscape tutorial on drawing sunglasses, I duplicated an object and tried applying a filter to the duplicated one, but it apply's the filter to both the duped and original object. I have the original deselected but it keeps happening. How do I fix this?!

My very first project, mix of Gimp 2.8 and Inkscape, using a Intuos3 Wacom tablet. I know it isn't all that great, but hey, first thing I did with a tablet so I'm fairly satisfied.

Your opinions?

Well, quick question; how do I upload SVG? I use Imgur, but it can't upload SVG files, so I tried using dropbox, but still have no clue how to upload them..
