Thanks Ryan for the tutorial - very interesting.
I believe it would be helpful for beginners if you could give some ballpark figures for the opacity and blur values.

Additionaly the Ínkscape select tool can also "skew". :tool_selector:
Illus tool can distort with some keyboard shortcuts somewhat similar to dealing with envelopes.

I guess in Inkscape it is simply the (not so "free") "select and transform objects" arrow. The problem is that the "distortion" capability seems to be missing?

Even after using Symantecs Norton remover tool, lots of stuff remains in the registry. A registry search with a program like JV Powertools will still dig up a lot.
I have good experiences with the Macecraft registry tools and the free CCleaner - and the free avast for antivirus needs.
