Has there been any progress on this issue?
I too would like to submit EPS files to the microstock sites but currently can only sell jpeg versions due to the loss of transparencies and blur effects of which i use quite heavily in my illustrations.

Re: Critique request on Watch Image
Actually that would make a pretty good real watch wouldn't it. Might send the design to some watchmakers now you have said that and see what they say! lol
It's a dirty word but.. it's for microstock.

Re: Critique request on Watch Image
Hi - thanks for that. Yes you are totally right there. I wanted the light to be coming from the top left and passing through the glass face.. down to bottom right but it's true that in many areas the light seems to be coming from other directions. (Screws top and bottom don't match the light reflect...

Critique request on Watch Image
Hi - would appreciate your feedback and critique on this image. Any suggestions to make it better? I can already see several ways it could be improved myself.

Re: Smoother combined lighting bevel?
Ah ok.. thanks for the tips and info brynn/Ivan. I'll try those and see how it works out. For anyone else who needs to see what i am trying to achieve (or rather the effect i want to avoid) here's a snapshot at 100% showing those nasty little lines: http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t42/davey77_200...

Smoother combined lighting bevel?
I have an elipse with a metel effect linear gradient, I like the effect of the filters/bevels/combined lighting which gives a nice curve to the edge of the elipse but... it has caused the fill to have lines nearer the edge which is unsightly at 100%. Particularly as there are holes cut out of the el...

Re: Inkscape to imovie/footage?
Thanks for the link.. looks interesting. But afraid it's no longer (or has never been) available for Macs (according to their download page).
I'll keep an eye on it.. hopefully a Mac version will be produced at some point.

Inkscape to imovie/footage?
I was wondering if it were possible to import inkscape creations into something like imovie with the view to making simple short clips? Is this feasible or completely impossible? If so can anyone suggest a method for a newbie illustrator to put together little films (preferably with open source.) :)

Re: Annoying Gradient Lines
Thanks.. appreciate the response and suggestions. hmm i am thinking i picked the wrong software to use for a professional finish tho. These gradient issues seem to infest all but the most pro (expensive) software out there.. ?! All very disheartening (forgive the pun based on the image above) but i ...

Annoying Gradient Lines
I can't figure out why i am getting lines showing on the gradient radiating out from behind the heart where the colour is lighter. It should be smooth (has been before on other work) but viewed at 100% the curved lines are really visible. Can't see what the problem is or how can i get rid of them! g...

Re: How do I open/save this filetype?
Thanks! The first part worked great. Got a white background now. That will save a lot of fiddling about. Cheers ;) Adding the 'jpeg' extension saved the file but 'preview' wasn't able to open it. (I'm on an Imac.) I use photoshop to play with the finished image anyway and that can open a PNG and sav...

Aligning images without gaps/overlap
I have an image of a foot, stepping onto text (and squashing it). The bottom of the foot is rounded (obviously) and the top of the text flat. How can i match the 2 images so their edges are butted up against each other without overlapping or leaving a gap in between? I want it to look like the text ...

Re: How do I open/save this filetype?
On a similar subject:
What is the best way to save as a jpeg with a white background? At the moment i am:
Saving as a PNG in Inkscape
Opening PNG with GIMP
Saving via GIMP as a JPEG (which gives me the white background.)
That sound about right or is there a better way?
