Hello
I am working on a 3d topographical map. The laser cutter needs to be fed a separate .svg file for each topographical layer. I am now working with 3 layers. 1 an underlying map similar to a google map. 2 the topographic elevation contours 3 Roads
In Qgis, the map software I use, if I change scale or position in the selected layer this change is reflected in other layers automatically.
Can I replicate this behavior in Inkscape? If not what can I do?
Thanx
Al
Synchronizing Layers
Re: Synchronizing Layers
Hi.
A viewbox is used to assign the measures to the drawing units.
In 0.92 you can specify a scale factor in the document settings (Shift+Ctrl+D).
Not sure it would solve your problem, I don't have much experience with it.
When older svg savings are opened a dialog comes up with options on the scaling.
(As far as I understood at the irc #inkscape-devel scaling all objects and setting a viewbox may interfere with eachother?)

Re: Synchronizing Layers
You can use Menu: Edit>Select all in all layers (Ctrl+Alt+A) to scale/move all layers together.
Have a nice day.
I'm using Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06), 64 bit win8.1
The Inkscape manual has lots of helpful info! http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/
