iOS, Android, QNX/Blackberry Playbook.

Has anyone looked into making Inkscape available for one of the tablet OS. I just got a Backberry Playbook and would love a native version of Inkscape for it. I'm sure the iOS version would do really well on the iPAD as well.

While there are Paint applications for all platforms, I haven't even heard of any apps that would make vector based art possible.
Vector art is uniquely suited to the pad touchscreen since the lines can be redefined after drawing.

I would personally drop $50 on a vector app for my Playbook. Multiply that by the iOS and/or Android market that will come with the next gen Tablets that a port might work for... you're talking some serious money.

I suspect we will have to look towards some proprietary software to fill this gap. As an open source program, Inkscape developement depends entirely upon volunteers, who have their hands full developing Inkscape for the current platforms. Writing an entirely new software for those products will require motivation of the kind that typically comes from the ultimate sale of a product.

I would make an uneducated guess that Adobe will step up, and wouldn't be surprised if something is already in the works. And another uneducated guess that it will cost much more than $50, lol.
