I've produced an airplane propeller as I couldn't find one suitable enough for my cnc router to cut out in 2D. I'm having a little trouble getting the pinhole on the prop hub to center so I can attach the prop to the fuselage so it rotates normally and not at an angle. My propeller is it 3 parts. I've selected the pinhole on the hub separately from the blades, but when I try to center it on the hub (see attachment) it doesn't move at all and its still off center.
How can I maneuver it into the center of the hub.
When I started using Inkscape I bought a copy of the Beginners Guide by Bethany Hiitola, but now I think that was a waste of money because it doesn't give me the answers I want and I have to keep coming back here for them.
Thanks a lot.
Michael

Something went wrong, I cannot see any attachment.
So just guessing, you have three blades in a polar array, and, need to position something in the centre after.
Doing it the other way would be simpler: one blade, changing the rotation centre to the fixed point, then rotating clones of the original.
Instead you have three of the same shape, and, each of their nodes can be paired into an equilateral triangle.
Draw such a rectangle with the pen tool and snapping to cusp/smooth nodes, and then the task is to find the circumcenter.
As far as I know there is an extension in the 0.91 drawing from triangle that might help, but it can be constructed just as easily without.
By duplicating the triangle, adjusting one of it's nodes, and rotating it 90°, you can draw vertices.
After that you only need to snap to two vertices path segment's intersection.

Re: Centring a dot
The snap tools include snap to center of object and snap to center of rotation.
So it may be simple enough to use one or the other. If the center of object is not adequate, the center of rotation can be placed within the object by dragging, then used for snap.

My apologies lads
Let me try again.

Hmm then it's way simpler.
You can use the align and distribute panel (Shift+Ctrl+A) on that. Center-aligning on horizontal and vertical axises will do the trick.

Hi.
Select the Blue Circle.
Select the Yellow Circle while holding down shift to select both.
Get the align and distribute dialog Shift Ctrl A
Select Relative to - First selected
Click the Center on Horizontal Axis icon
Click the Center on Vertical Axis icon
To center the hub on the propeller, select the two blades
Make a group Ctrl G
Make a group of the two spinner Circles.
Select first the blades group then the spinner group (while holding down shift to select both).
Use the center horizontal Axis then Vertical axis.

I should correct myself:
The center of rotation of an object can be placed anywhere by dragging, then used for snap.
