This question is related to work which involves various sizes in one design.
When I open new document in Inkscape it is set to zoom 35%.
When I design some times I have to zoom to see if every thing is done properly. So, it could be zooming from 35% to 90% or 130% and returning back to 35%.
This is usually what I do. I am not satisfied with my way of work and think there might be a proper way.
Therefore, asking question because I am new to Inkscape.
My question is, what should be the proper zoom percentage when I create a new document should I use 100% from the beginning?
Please share your experience.
Thank you.
What should be the zoom%?
Re: What should be the zoom%?
I think it's a matter of personal preference. But not just personal preference, because I might need different zoom level for different tasks, as well as different size objects. That 35% zoom default annoys me so much that I created a custom default doc, so that new files open at 100%. For me, it just depends on what I'm doing at any given moment as to the amount of zoom I use. While I'm drawing basic outlines, I usually find myself at 100% or 200%, unless the objects are very small. If they're very small, I could be zoomed to 1000 or 2000%, especially when node editing. If I'm trying trace a line in a raster image, by hand, using Pen/Bezier (or Pencil/Freehand) tool, I might sometimes zoom in until I see the color pixels units. However, when it comes time to add color and/or blur, I like to be at 100%. That's because for small objects (under 50px, e.g.), a color that looks great when the object fills the whole screen, might not look the same at 100% Especially blur is hard to judge while zoomed (for me anyway). I almost never work at less than 100%, unless the objects are really large (over 600 px, e.g.).
