I see that some have troubles with Inkscape and Mavericks OS X 10.9.x

I can launch alright, but preferences are forgotten one session to the next. I haven't yet delved into complex illustration in inkscape on mavericks yet because of this..any news on whether there will be an update to Inkscape such that it plays nicer with Mavericks? Is the problem on the OS side?

I'm on the new update 10.9.2 which apple just released.
