Font is displaying partially incorrect
For a project I am currently working on I needed to modify a font by adding gaps. I used Type Light 3.2 to modify the font and repeatedly re-installed the font after I modified each letter to test it. This worked perfectly fine however when I tried to use the font in Inkscape it was only displaying 1 letter correctly, A. This causes me to believe it is using the first version of the font before I re-installed with the updated versions. However if you take a look at the image I attached you can see it is correctly displaying the font in the preview panel. I have tried to completely delete the font from the folder in System32 and reinstall to no avail. I then deleted the FNTCACHE.DAT inside of System32 and restarted my computer. It still won't work and I have no idea how to fix this. Any help will be appreciated.

Re: Font is displaying partially incorrect
Hello
First of all: I think I have a very good knowledge of Inkscape. However, I know... "very little" about font management or designing.
But I think that the way you erase your fonts is wrong.
A quick google search, for example, it says for windows Vista, but I guess it can be applied to other versions:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/wind ... tall-fonts
- In Inkscape you can change the "kerning" or space between letters, words or line. Consult the Inkscape Guide. I don't see the reason to modify the font file to do that
.
So my general advice is: Uninstall, if possible, all the versions of your font, even those you modified, (or save them in other place, if you know what you are doing), re install them and use Inkscape to change the "gap" between letters. You even can modify the shape of the letters, when you convert them to paths, but please again, consult the Inkscape Guide.
I have to say, that I don't know how to use Type Light 3.2. So... maybe others have a better opinion
Good luck
P.S.: After re-reading your first post, I begin to guess why you have to modify all the font. Perhaps you have to write a lot of text with your modified text. But still think You used a wrong procedure to delete them. Un-install all the font and font variants using the MS Windows way.

Re: Font is displaying partially incorrect
Hi,
there was a post about something very similar just recently in the answers section. It has to do with how Windows saves updated fonts (it seems to keep previous versions, but somehow 'invalidates' them, but Inkscape does not see that invalidation). If this is the case here, there should be some older copies still lying around on your disk in some system directory (no idea where, I'm a Linux user).
See https://answers.launchpad.net/inkscape/+question/280412
Could you search if anything like that exists and remove the versions with the older dates? (Can't promise that this is the reason, I haven't touched a Windows machine in years)
Edit: Oh, and don't use a font manager - they are currently causing issues in 0.91...

Moini
