I am opening an SVG file and I want to save it as EPS but retain editable text, however after saving to EPS the text is converted to paths, see export settings:



Is this a restriction of the EPS file format?

Inkscape will save EPS files with text intact, so I suggest you attach an example svg file and resulting EPS file in a zip file so we can take a look.
