I use Inkscape to make maps for a gaming campaign. I started this on what is now my old computer. When I got a new computer, I backed up my files and now on my new computer, I am trying to resume my work.
One of my files is no longer openable by Inkscape. I have done nothing to it, other than back it up on dropbox, install Inkscape on my new computer (which is a newer version of inkscape than on my old machine), grab the file from dropbox, and try to resume.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/v4dmksb70f8ncbe/Ishtar.svg?dl=0 is the dropbox link.
Thanks to Lazur's help earlier, I tried looking at the file in Notepad and I saw some stuff that seems weird, but I'm no expert.
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Yet ANOTHER inkscape issue
Hate to tell you this one is not a inkscape issue.
I opened your file with wordpad and well you have some binary data in it. Your file is corrupted at several places inside the file.
If you have your old computer still and the files are still on it you might have a chance to run a "chkdsk /f" on the actual drive and hope that the system fixes the messed up location clusters.
I could probably salvage most of the file but that would require lots of cutting and pasting into a new svg file
Your file is corrupted with a part of microsoft anti-malware and part of your chrome cache files.
You'll need something like notepad++ to be able to clean the binary data from the good stuff.

Shawn,
Thanks for taking a look. Sounds like I just have to remake the map. Unfortunate, but them's the breaks sometimes.

This is the max I could recover from that file:

Lazur,
Thanks again for another save. It'll trim at least an hour from my bumbling efforts to remake the map.
Love the inkscape community!
