Maybe I'll use this one for the 'Contact Me' section of my portfolio. I'm not meant to be drawing today...!

Do people think the pinstripes on the envelopes are too subtle? (baring in mind they will probably end up on a dark, possibly black, background.)

Here they are in brown/vanilla, but I think I prefer them in black. Any other colour suggestions?

The brown makes the wax seal stand out more (I barely noticed it on the black envelope) - although I think the wax could be much less dark for both black and brown envelope.

I would recommend using a gradient to colour the envelope - creating a subtle transition from between two shades of brown. This will help define the seperation between the two envelopes where they overlap since the colour won't precisely match.

I would also make the pin-stripes thinner and use a dark brown - no transparency. I think they would be most effective when they appear thin and sharp.

I would also make the shadow for the seal and the envelope fold a brown instead of black.

Despite saying all that, I think they are really effective - I like the attention to detail.

Thanks I'll play around with it soon. I agree with all your points.

Here's the update:

I couldn't change the colour of the pinstripes because I used a default pattern and they are only in black or white - is there a way to change this?

Thanks!

I think that looks better. I'm not sure how to change the pin stripes - did you manage to change them at all? They look different, but that might be because I'm on a different PC (The original isn't showing currently). I don't think I could criticise it any further :) It's really nice work.
