Replacement of palettes

Postby rosros » Sat May 11, 2013 1:53 am

What about a quick way to test a number of different color schemes on a drawing?

Here is a proposal:
0.0) Make sure you have python 2.7 installed.
0.1) DO NOT USE FILENAMES CONTAINING SPACES.

1) Select the palette you want to use and use only those colors in the drawing.
Colors that do not belong to the palette will not be replaced (this may be e feature).
The zipped file contains a few palettes based on complementary, triadic and tetradic color schemes (these are only
examples of color schemes, of course).

2) Select the palette that should replace it.

3) Put all these files in the same directory:
3.1) palreplace.py
3.2) palreplace.bat
3.3) both palettes
3.4) the svg drawing

4) Open 'palreplace.bat' with a text editor and correct the parameters
after "python palreplace.py " as follows:
source-palette target-palette drawing
(all without extensions)

5) When ready, double click (in MSExplorer) on palreplace.bat, a new
svg with the new palette and with the name of the new palette appended
(before the extension) will be created.

Hi.

Very clever!
Do the palettes have to be same size? (Same number of colors)

Would it be nice to have an "Swap Palette" - extension?
