How to get command line operations (--verb) to work without GUI (option -z)?

This is NOT a support forum. You are welcome to discuss software issues here, but all issues should be reported on Launchpad if you want them fixed.

How to get command line operations (--verb) to work without GUI (option -z)?

For many things, e.g. like batch processing of SVG files (cropping, resizing, ... ) you don't want to open the GUI, which is extremely slow and actually not necessary.
Obviously, --verb options do not work together with -z option (surpressing GUI).

There has been a bug report more than 5 years ago (2011).
https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/843260
As I see there, help was offered. What happened?
Since I am not a programmer I cannot judge whether this will be a "minor" thing or a "big" issue to fix.

Wouldn't this increase the simplicity and effectivness of working with Inkscape dramatically?
Thank you very much for fixing this severe limitation of Inkscape.

Are there any efficient workarounds without using Perl, Python or others?
Win7/64, Inkscape 0.92.2

theozh, developers only very rarely visit this forum. The bug report section is the place where to ask for features. Currently, people are mostly on Christmas holidays, and when they are not, they are working on preparing the next release, so it's presentable. You can join them directly on the inkscape-devel irc channel or on the developers mailing list, or, if you like, you can start supporting the project, by contributing (there are tons of work a non-programmer can do) - that frees up resources for the programmers.
Something doesn't work? - Keeping an eye on the status bar can save you a lot of time!
