Fran, can you copy the message about Cairo here?
You can also start Inkscape from the command line, to get a more easily copy-able error message.
To do so, open the terminal, then type 'inkscape' and hit enter (at least I think that is how it would work on Windows).
Then copy the output here.

Something doesn't work? - Keeping an eye on the status bar can save you a lot of time!

Is it the same error message every time?
Is this happening with different files, or always the same file?
When you open Inkscape, are you doing it by double-clicking the icon on your desktop? Or are you directly opening a specific image (by right-clicking the image in your file manager) (which is probably Windows Explorer).
If you're directly opening a specific image, would you be able to share that image with us later? I'm not sure if we necessarily need to see it yet, but might help later. Did you ever do File menu > Save As > cairo png, for the image that's causing the error message?
Please tell us the specific steps which will produce the error message every time. If you don't know the proper terminology, you can describe it the best you can. When you hover your mouse over almost every icon/button in the Inkscape window, for a second or 2, some small text pops up (it's called a "tool tip"). You can use that tool tip to help explain what you're clicking.
Or if you know how to make screenshots or videos, that would be helpful as well.
It sounds like the issue with the font is a different problem from the cairo error message. Is that true? Or does the error message happen when you're trying to change the font?
How long have you had Inkscape? Has it worked properly in the past, and these are new problems? Or have you just recently installed it, and it's always been like this?
Which Inkscape version did you download and from where?
Sorry for all the questions, but we need a lot of details sometimes, to be able to sort out the problems.

One more Q: Are you using the English language version, or another like Chinese?
Have a nice day.
I'm using Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06), 64 bit win8.1
