Hi all, I have some issue to rotate some character using ALT + [ shortcut. It just doesn't work. I'have an italian Keyboard and I have to say that [ charachter needs altGR key . this is an example of my keyboard:

So I've tried pressing over and over with ALT + [, ALT + ALTGR + [ and more, but it seems doesn't work.
How can I achieve this effects? There's some menu items?

I also have to use AltGR and it works when using both alts at the same time.

Maybe your problem is the window manager, Alt may be reserved for some operations with window management, probably moving windows. Does Alt work for you in Inkscape in other options? Like using Alt to select object that is under another one?

You can get the Alt back in Inkscape by choosing another modifier key in your window manager or by mapping another key as a shortcut for a function in Inkscape.

I actually don't see it in the default.xml file. Perhaps it's still hard coded.

Yes, Alt key seems to work with other feature, as spacing and Kerning. My Os are Windows XP Pro and Vista. It seems to work on Kubuntu using Alt + AltGr + [ (or ] ). See the attachment.

Try uninstalling inkscape, delete the folder c:\documents and settings\[username]\application data\Inkscape, then reinstall inkscape. This should correct any issues with the configuration.

None, I've tried to uninstall and the reinstall the application, but the functionality isn't working properly yet. Any suggestions? It is probably a bug?

well I do have a german keboard. And ALT + [ doesn´t work either.

However the way I usually get arround this is:
I change my language keyboard setting on "en" (Windows).
Then I use the "ü"-key and "*"-key instead on my german keyboard, and it works fine.

Yes, I think it's a good strategy to make it works, but it's a workaround!
I think, in this case it is a bug inside Inkscape, 'cause I'm not the only one that have this problem.
