Dear all,

I drew an arrow and now I'd like to rotate it. So I

1) (single left) click it twice,
2) press the CTRL key on my keyboard
3) click and hold the "rotation arrow"
4) try and drag the arrow until it has rotated 180 degrees.

However, as soon as I start dragging, I seem to "lose grip" on the object and it stays right in place. I shot a tiny video of the problem and uploaded it here.

I then Googled "inkscape object not rotating" but nothing useful came up.

Does anybody have a suggestion what may be going on?

I cannot see where the rotation's centre is at. Any chances it i exactly at the bounding box's corner handle, you dragged?

Did you try grouping the object (Ctrl+G) and rotate the group?
Did you try the transformation panel (Shift+Ctrl+M)?
Just something to check.

I can't see any rotation center (tiny square cross that should be in middle of object) either. I did try to rotate using all four corners but to no avail.

I didn't know you can group a single object but -indeed- after grouping it, it did actually go!

The transformation panel worked as well.

Still curious why it wouldn't rotate in the usual way but at least I can move on with my project now... Thanks again for your suggestions!

Not sure what was the case, but there can be similar not-so-trivial behave on a path made of only a straight line segment between double nodes -starting and end node at the exact same coordinates-, and with a large marker set in the fill and stroke panel.
