how to set angle of rectangle

Postby glasslady » Mon Feb 23, 2015 2:38 am

Is there a way to set the angle for a rectangle? I need it turned to 45 degrees.

Hold Ctrl while rotating.

Or use the transformation panel (Shift+Ctrl+M).

Select the rectangle - press the [ or ] key - each press will rotate 15° ClockWise (CW) or CounterClockWise (CCW) respectively.

By pressing Shift S - with your rectangle selected - the rotation center marker will appear in the form of a small "+" sign in the middle of the rectangle, you can move this "cross" to one of the corners (enable snapping to corner nodes) or even outside the rectangle. Subsequent presses of the square brackets will rotate the rectangle around this point.

For some excellent "mini-tutorials" see this page.
Good Luck!

Doesn't work for me. Nothing is rotating...
Probably some problems with the keyboard layout. Similar like Shift+Ctrl+7 which should be "Path effects" which is in fact Shift+Ctrl+6 or Ctrl+&...
Win7/64, IS 0.92.2 and switching between DE and EN keyboard layout.
