Hello Everyone!
I'm trying install Inkscape 0.48 on Ubuntu Linux and I get the following error after performing "./configure" command:
"checking for LCMS... no
configure: error: --enable-lcms was specified, but appropriate LittleCms development packages could not be found".
However, I have installed the package LittleCms 2.3 downloading it from sourceforge and the problem wasn't solved.
I'm a newbie here and I can't figure out what's wrong or missing...
Please, some idea
Thanks!
LittleCms error when configuring on Ubuntu..

Inkscape 0.48 is rather vague: which tarball (dot version) did you actually download and try to compile?

Note: Inkscape 0.48.2 and older versions require lcms1.
If - for whatever reason - you require/need Inkscape to use lcms2 only, get the sources for Inkscape 0.48.3.1 (or current trunk) and try again (0.48.3.1 has added support for lcms2 on linux and Windows).
Note II: Since you are using a distro (Ubuntu) which normally provides packages for Inkscape as well as lcms1 and lcms2, I do wonder though why you don't install the stable versions via Software Center (you don't seem to be looking for unstable development versions either).
