Postby cangoo » Thu Jul 24, 2008 1:26 am

Hi,

i've got a problem.

i've imported a bitmap into a inkscape project. on the bitmap i write with inkscape text edit some words. i saved it....

after when i open again my project and instead of the bitmap i've found a notice: Linked image not found.

i tried to change the link of image with a right click>prop, but don't work..

What i can do?

Sorry for my bad english

Thanks

Easy dude,

I'm new here but will try and help :)

Did you delete or move the file you imported?

You need to move it back to where it was or move it to same directory as your svg file.

Then you can right click on the image and go to "Image Properties" and change the URL to the file.

It's also a good idea to trace the image (tutorial here) if it isn't too complicated then it will stay in inkscape as a vector :)

Cheers

Heh, rather than going through the trouble of vectorizing it, you can just click the picture and do "effects->images->embed one image". ;) Keep in mind that it increases the file size of your project. Depending on the size and number of pictures you embed, it may take a while to save.

Umm... when you vectorize something, it almost always produces a far from perfect vector version of the original image. :? You may want to embed the image, or save it in a more permanent location before importing it into Inkscape.
