Importing .ai file on Mac

Postby VALENTINA » Tue Sep 06, 2016 10:32 pm

Hello,

Apologies for the probably very stupid question... I installed Inkscape like 20 mins ago, and I am trying to import an .ai file (restaurant menu with couple of pages).
However, I cannot change the "Select Page" , it is on number 1 and is kind of greyed... and I need to move to page 2... and 3, an 4..
Any advice (I am a total non-technical person, just trying to build the menu for my small restaurant..)
many thanks in advance !

You could try changing the file extension from .ai to .pdf and see if that works.
Have a nice day.

I'm using Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06), 64 bit win8.1

The Inkscape manual has lots of helpful info! http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/

hmm, it actually does not work. Meaning, I could import the file, either .ai, .pdf or .eps (and all of them has 6 pages).
But I should be able to change somewhere the settings for the import page (the first window opened) - it is showing "1" and it's greyed, I cannot select page 2, 3..

so my question is : where can I change the default page settings variable, anybody ?

thanks,

Vali

If you can share the file (using drive, dropbox, etc.) others mightbe better able to help.
