Hi there!
I just started using Inkscape and am still in the learning curve but the help is most of the time enough to solve the little problems I met until now.

The only thing I cannot do is saving my drawing as an Open Office .odg file.
What's weird is that no file is created even if inkscape shows a line saying "Document saved" in the bottom of the screen ???
I tried saving as a few other formats which are working fine (PDF, EPS..).
At least, 2 of the export format I tried didn't work: ODG and PNG (the latest I don't need).

Any clue how I could fix this problem ?
(the drawing is a very simple one and I can upload it if needed (size is 11k)).

Version used: Inkscape 0.48.5 R10040 (French) under windows XP SP3

This is what I did, but I'm still wondering why this "save as" option is non efficient ?

I don't even get an error msg like yours. The program shows in the bottom line "saved" but no file.
AS I choosed my target directory a few times, I'm quite sure nothing happened and this is why I am curious to know why we have a msg as if it was normally completed but no file in fine ?

I don't understand why this is the case, but I've found that you have to choose OpenDocument Drawing (*.odg) from the Save as type menu. It's not good enough just to put .odg on the end of the file name. If you don't choose the Save As Type, it saves as SVG.

I've never understood this, because in other kinds of software, it's good enough just to choose where to save it, and type the extension on the end of the file name. But for some reason, this is how it goes in Inkscape.

I have been able to successfully save an ODG file from Inkscape 0.48.5 (on Win7, 64-bit), just now.

If it still doesn't work, I wonder if you could import the SVG into whatever program that is (OpenOffice Draw?).
