Hi All,
New the forum but have been using Inkscape for 11 months now

0.48 on PuppyLinux 6.3.4 (primary machine)
09.1 on Windows 7

I have been designing watch dials and typically Save As PDF to print the dials, but my most recent dial does not print to PDF. When I use Save As the resulting PDF is empty. I also combine dial images in one SVG and the new dial does not show on the PDF even though other designs show perfectly. Also using print preview does not show any image.

I have been able to Save As an .EP file but am not happy with the slight rasterization.

Any tips to getting this dial to print would be much appreciated.

It's not empty, only the ellipse is missing, but since everything else (markings and text) is white it seems invisible. I haven't figured out yet why the ellipse disappears.

The ellipse you created has a transform applied to it. When I remove the transform the ellipse is displayed well above the page area, and it isn't a circle. I don't know why this transform is affecting the PDF export, maybe that's a bug.

But you can easily fix it by deleting that ellipse and creating a new one. Turn on snapping centers and page, and use Ellipse tool with Ctrl and Shift to drag a circle from the center of the page to a page corner. This way the object won't have any transforms and will show up in the PDF.

You don't need the stroke I think, your current one has it but it's the same color as the fill.

The black circle/ellipse has a black stroke with a very small stroke width, which triggers the PDF export problem with newer versions of the cairo graphics library (used by Inkscape for PDF export):After setting the stroke of the black circle to 'None', the drawing exports to PDF as expected.

BTW how did you determine this was my problem? I tired running Inkscape from the command line hoping it would send out some error message to the console.
