Text in a spiral for scrolling

I'm trying to put text into a spiral for scrolling and can't quit get It to work. I can move the text onto a spiral but can't get it to close up. I need each circle of the spiral to touch the one above/below. Any thought on how I could do it?

Hmm sounds like you want to add divergence to the text, not just a core path to follow.
It would need the text converted to path, adding a perspective or envelope effect, then using that path as a pattern in a pattern along path lpe.

Adjusting the spiral's divergence and the text's distortion may need a bit more calculating/try and error.
This one was drawn without much care.

An involute of a circle spiral for a core path can cover that, with a basic text on path effect. Will try to make an example.

ok you'll have to explain "circle evolvent spiral for a core path" I'm fairly new to inkscape and just tend to do basic stuff. Thanks

Basically it is a text along path effect.

The mentioned spiral is just a plus.
It's a kind of spiral where each turn is parallel.
