Hi
I am creating a figure for a publication
I have imported 4 tiff files and arranged as I want
Have changed document preferences so the background is black - see file attached
However, whenever I save as EPS or PDF, has a white background...
What am I doing wrong? Something stupid?
Has to be PDF/EPS for the journal and not bmp
Thanks!
Exporting to EPS - Background problems
Re: Exporting to EPS - Background problems
Hi.
Attachment not found! (yet)
The background in document properties are not exported/saved in PDF format.
To get a black background;
enable snapping to document borders.
Zoom to page ( 5 )
Draw a rectangle covering the page. ( F4 )
Set Fill to Black and Stroke to none. ( Shift - Ctrl - F )
If the Rectangle is covering your images - Select the Rectangle and press PGDN
(Repeatedly until all images are "uncovered")
Export/Save as PDF.
(Hint; it is useful to have the background on a separate layer - below the "working layer"
To move the rectangle to a different layer - press Shift - PGDN
- lock the background layer by clicking the padlock in the layer dialog, this
will prevent you accidentally selecting & moving the background rectangle.
By 'hiding' the background as well you get a more 'pleasing' (in my opinion) work surface - (click the eye icon in the layer dialog)
I normally use a White canvas to resemble paper but I know of CAD operators using white lines on black background
as they claims this to be less "stressful" on the eyes.
Remember to "Unhide" the background layer before saving as EPS/PDF.
Chime back if not successful.
