When I click on File>Input Devices, the dialog box comes up, but when I click on the arrow to the right of the device, it is highlighted in blue but no other devices come up. This makes it impossible to select an Input Device. How can I fix this? Windows Vista Home Premium.

Well, when I open that dialog, it says "No extended input devices"! But it sounds like you are expecting another device to show up, and it's not there?

In Inkscape Preferences > Mouse, there are a couple of checkboxes for tablet and tablet device. You could look at those to make sure they're checked...if they need to be.

What is the device that does show in the dialog, and what device are you expecting but don't see?

I was having the same problem as Merritt: "No Extended Input Devices". I have a Wacom Intous 3 tablet. I found out that if I launch Inkscape by using the Wacom mouse or pen, all is good. I can set the devices, and it works fine.

I see Wacom Tablet Puck Transducer and Screen in the Input Devices dialog window when I first open Inkscape. I am trying to select the Wacom Stylus to use with the Pencil, Calligraphy Pen tools.

Well, I checked both boxes shown in Mouse Inkscape Preferences, restarted, now I get the box that says, "No extended input devices" and it won't go away. Both boxes stay checked after I restart, even though I uncheck them. I must be doing something wrong.
