dxf scaling - trying to understand
I just discovered that svg documents that originated in LibreOffice also make problems for saving dxf files using Inkscape... that is, opening a LibreOffice svg in Inkscape and editing/saving a copy as dxf can scale objects almost 30x the original size. (This is not a base-units settings issue. )
The workaround, AFAICT, is to never use Inkscape to "open" an svg from LO, but always "Import" into an Inkscape document. But, if you're already a few hours of work into editing a LO svg in Inkscape and discover the resulting dxf is wonky, you should be able to copy/paste your work into a new Inkscape document and be successful exporting a dxf with proper scale.
This issue likely involves SVGs from any number of programs. (I just bumped into it when using Libreoffice.) Checking scale on those dxf files before sending to a service-bureau is advised... scaling problems can cost $$$.
I should note that even additional drawing objects created in the svg document don't scale properly, so it seems the issue is in the document scaling, not at the object level. e.g. : Opening a drawing of a circle from LO, then drawing a square object on another layer, then saving just the square as dxf will have the scaling issue.

Libreoffice SVGs scale erratically in Inkscape and then dxf
Have a nice day.
I'm using Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06), 64 bit win8.1
The Inkscape manual has lots of helpful info! http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/
