Every shape disappear
Every shape disappear
Everything disappear in Inscape. I use 0.91 to win8.1. Untill now I had not any such problems. I am not an artist but not a newbie either, I could use Incscape very well for my purpuse. Now I draw a rectangel or anythyng, it it not visible. It is not possible to put on any colour.
Re: Every shape disappear
Hi.
There could be several explanation for the "disappearing" objects.
First to check that the object is really there - switch to outline view in the View - Displaymode - Outline pulldown menu.
If the object shows up in outline mode but are "invisible" in normal mode check the alpha and opacity setting in he stroke and fill dialog ( Shift Ctrl F )
Also check the opacity and visibility setting of the layer in use (if any).
To prevent the setting of incorrect alpha and opacity settings for objects make sure that you are not using "last used style" for the objects in the preferences.
Please post an example file if these steps don't work.
Good Luck.

Re: Every shape disappear
Yep, definitely sounds like it's a combination of "last used style" option and tinkering with opacity settings earlier. Using the outline view is a good idea. An alternative would be to use the Tab key to cycle through objects, select everything (Ctrl+A) or simply drag a selection rectangle to select everything in the current layer (or even across layer, depending on your settings). This way you should be able to select even things you can't see.
This may be a silly question but.. do the objects actually get created? If not, you might be on a locked layer, which prevents the creation of objects.

Re: Every shape disappear
Thank you for all answers. The problem is resolved. It was too simple. The opacity was 0%. I asked even the chat-help. I ought to discover this self.
