Fill bounded areas.

Postby grassyink » Sun Jul 29, 2007 6:32 pm

Has anyone been playing with the paint bucket in the latest development build? I find it leaves a fine white line between the created 'fill' shape and the outlines it detects. So far I have then used outset on the resultant shape but I was wondering if there were a more elegant workflow.

Love the tools.

In the toolbar for the fill tool theres a spinbox labelled grow/shrink by:
put that to a small positive value and it will essentially do an outset automaitcally for you.

Ak! In my haste I had completly overlooked the toolbar. What a dope.
Thanks for spending the time to help me out.
I'm keen to get a stable release with this feature as cel work really interests me.
Here's my first pic to give you an idea..

Just replied to the first pic post without realising it was you. Good to see that floodfill being put to such good use.
Not sure what the timeline is for a full on release, we had a bit of a discussion on the dev list the other week, concenus
was we wanted to get the Google summer of code stuff in and settled, so 0.46 is probably a couple of months away yet.
Hopefullly SVN should be reasonably stable, if you do find any reproducable issues that arent in the tracker, please do file bugs.
If you've got any things that you feel would help with the workflow do let us know too, the guy that put this in was doing similar sort of work
so hopefully it should be pretty good for you, but we're always happy to hear how it can improve.

Cheers

Sim
