Inkscape won't let me copy objects to other programs

Inkscape won't let me copy objects to other programs

Hello,

I recently purchased a new pc and installed a newest version of inkscape to work on my project.

However, whenever I try to copy objects from inkscape to other programs(microsoft office, gimp, whatever graphics programs)

none of them displays the object. I tried installing an older version of inkscape but it did not fix the problem.

Can someone help me with this ? :(

Hi.

For sorting out the problem, what exactly are you trying to copy/paste? Inkscape is a vector drawing program while office programs are not, nor gimp is a vector editor as per se. Most of the "objects" cannot be copy-pasted from like inkscape to paint.
Try copy-pasting between two running instances of inkscape to see if it's the object you trying to paste is not supported by the program you try to paste into or your clipboard doesn't work well. (Previous issues were present on mac.)

Thanks for the response. copy-pasting between inkscape works fine.

Here's the example that I am having a trouble with

when I copy an object, it used to be able to copy paste to microsoft office with my previous computer but with my new pc...

this image cannot currently be displayed

Hmm not sure how it is supposed to work. Paths implementation probably hadn't changed between 0.48 and 0.91.
Can only suggest searching the bug tracker or asking it at the live chat.
