Hey guys! I've been scrolling up and down the forum all day long, but couldn't find anything that might help me, so I though if somebody had a similar experience and might share some clues!

I'm using linux inkscape for console, version 0.9, it works great as it allows me to specify conversion parameters such as resolution, dpi, etc.
However when I use vector format files (such as .AI for example) which have some custom font used, the final outcome of the process produces a PNG image with font replacement used, probably with some of the system fonts.

You can see the example here, the top display is from the original .AI file, and the bottom one is from the inkscape generated PNG.



Anyone have any idea why is this happening and how to prevent it? As far as I know vector formats contain font information within themselves, so surely this should work without having the actual font installed in the system.

AIUI, fonts not found in the system folder get replaced with something close(-ish), prior to rasterization.

If you have an .ai file you can share, we can test it. Please zip it and attach to a reply, or provide a link to a filesharing service.

Make sure the font is installed on your system. I'm not sure Inkscape can deal with embedded fonts...

You export the file with custom fonts to a different extension on the device where are no these fonts - that's how I see the issue
