my problem is that the drawing window and save as dialog too large. the whole window does not shrink to fit. I have a 15inch monitor and my resolution is at 1024*768. This seems to be the only program that is having the problem. I have tried to uninstall and re-install with no sucess. the only anoying solution is to auto hide my top and bottom panels so I can see more of the desktop. Am I missing a simple solution?
Thanks,
Joel

Re: drawing window and save as dialog too large
Try a recent prerelease version of 0.47 - many window size issues have been fixed and Inkscape should behave better on small screens. The size of the 'Save as' dialog seems an upstream GTK+ issue of the GtkFileChooser which AFAICS has already improved a lot since the release of 0.46 (at least on OS X ;-).

OTOH the release of 0.47 is imminent - after that I am sure there will be soon new packages for many linux distributions available.
