My work with Inkscape

Postby SeanJM » Sat Mar 19, 2011 2:29 pm

I read Prokoudine's interview and figured I should show my work with Inkscape. I use it in my day job--everyday. And I love it.

I mostly do Interface design for applications with logos and web design also.

There's a lot more to show.

druban: Thank you.

Simarilius: Thank you. I was surprised when I came to this forum and saw a lot of the great stuff being done with Inkscape. It's a great vector tool.

Nice logos and images! Inkscape is a great program, really! And you are very clever, indeed!

Wow, yes, excellent work!
I really like the sculptris logo/icon -- very creative!
Also the 2nd one from top, with brush options. Those circular setting controls are just incredible!! Hey, you should come up with some gui examples for Inkscape! (If you haven't already...) Not that I dislike Inkscape's interface, I'd just be interested to see what you might create :D

Thank you. The idea is to keep everything at the mouse, the user never has to go away from their work.

I did actually! viewtopic.php?f=28&t=8709&p=31489#p31489

I would even add groups to that layout. I think this design is quite simple and reasonable. Since deleting gradients manually is something I need.

I have some ideas... :-)

I did create both logos. :-) MyPaint has a lot of potential, that brush engine is great. Sculptris is in a league of it's own and I am happy for Tomas. I even did interface design for mypaint > http://www.seanjmacisaac.com/2D/interfa ... Edit_7.png

Oh gosh, Sean, I'm so embarassed -- I never did see your reply to mine, in your message about improving the gradient "editor" When I was thinking about you doing some work on Inkscape's interface, I was hoping for some of those cool circular button thingies, lol! But perhaps Inkscape doesn't really have any use for them. I expect they take up space, and I suspect Inkscape's interface is meant to allow for as much canvas area as possible. Anyway, I'll go read and reply to that earlier message now :D

Don't be, nothing to be embarrassed about.

That circular menu is a right click menu = 100% canvas space.
Any application can be converted to radial pie menus of that type. It would make it so every application option is under your mouse.

If it's not too late I'd point out that the jgraph one is missing an "l" from "languages". Visually they're all fantastic though.
