I have downloaded the Windows exe installer, but when I try to install I got the following Error:
"Installer integrity check has failed. Common causes include incomplete download and damaged media."
I have download the file several times, and I have also downloaded fråm different sites, but I get the sam error each time I try to install Inkscape.
What shall I do?

Installation problem
Re: Installation problem
I received the same error message when I was downloading the Windows installer on a computer at work on friday. I assumed it was just a freak error during the download. Downloading it again to the same location worked for me, but it doesn't seem to be for you.
Try downloading the Windows 7zip file from here: http://www.inkscape.org/download/?lang=en
Unzip the file (using the free 7zip program) into a new folder, can be called 'Inkscape', on your hardrive. Then start Inkscape using the inkscape.exe in the unzipped folder.

Thank you! Earlier I downloaded the exe-file. NowI have downloaded the zip-file, extracted it to a Inkscape folder and tried to start the inscape.exe but it does nor function. I get an error telling med that Inkscape has discovered an internal error and will be closed.

Re: Installation problem
Either you have a problem with your internet connection, it's not compatible with your system, or the downloads from the website are broken. Try downloading the installer on another computer with a different connection and then transfer it to yours.
What version of Windows are you running?

Re: Installation problem
Are you able to try the suggestions posted for the original member?
What OS are you using?
Another idea might be to try downloading the dev version (which at this point is probably almost identical to the stable version). It wouldn't have to be your permanent solution, but just to try to gather info to diagnose the problem.
Also, what about other programs - have you had any trouble recently downloading and/or instaling any other programs? Can you try downloading and installing something besides Inkscape, something small, just to determine if it's strictly Inkscape, or something else with your system?

Re: Installation problem
Hello Everyone,
This problem is still extant - at least for me as a Vista 64 user.
I followed the link to the 7zip file suggested above. The 7zip link was a start, but it lead to a some gobbledegook that wasn't very useful to someone like me, so I stabbed a likely-looking link which took me to http://inkscape.modevia.com/win32/?M=D where I grabbed Inkscape-0.45-1.win32.exe. This seems to work.

That might work, but it's Inkscape 0.45, which is about 3 years old.
The following thread may possibly be relevant, although the error message is different than the one that Nilla had: error launching installer message when i try to install.

Thanks for the idea, but it isn't relevant in the sense that there were no funny characters in the pathname that I used.
