PNG export looks different than .svg in Inkscape

Postby RubenGeert » Tue Jun 04, 2013 12:20 am

Dear all,

A .png I exported from Inkscape looks slightly different from the image in Inkscape.
Image

Does anybody understand what I did wrong and how to solve this? I created many similar images without any problems. In case anybody is willing and able to have a look at the .svg file, it is here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/116120595/i215.svg

Thank you in advance,

Ruben

AFAICT this is among the known "random" bugs in the old renderer used with current stable Inkscape versions. The new cairo-based renderer in the next major release (0.49) will export the drawing correctly (without the additional stroke line).

Workaround with current stable versions of Inkscape (based on quick tests with Inkscape 0.48.4 on OS X 10.7.5): node-edit the affected path (solid white fill with red stroke), and break the path at the bottom-most node (select the the cusp corner at the bottom of the tail, and use 'Shift+B' or the corresponding icon on the node tool controls bar), then export again ('Drawing', dpi 90).

Breaking the path indeed solved the problem. Thx for the help, it's appreciated.
