First of all I found this program today on the net and I think that it is totally FANTASTIC!!. One of the reasons that I was looking for a program like this is so that I can open .emf files created by a CAD program, add text and shapes, save as .emf and then insert them into MS Word. I have checked the extension-errors.log file and there is no reference to emf files

I am having problems importing .emf into InkScape 0.46

This is what happens:-

Create .emf in CAD on XP
Open or Import .emf in InkScape
The page is totally blank

This is what I can do

Create .emf in CAD on XP
Import into Word on XP
No Problem

Create .emf in CAD on XP
Open or Import .emf in InkScape
The page is totally blank
Save as .emf
Still opens in MS Word

Am I missing something or is this a bug?

I have disscovered that if the file has been created in InkScape then a Windows app can open and display the file. The issue is opening a .emf ( and jpg and posibily others ) in InkScape, saving in InkScape and then being unable to open in MS applications

I don't know what Inkscape's support for EMF is like. Can you provide an example of your EMF file to test with?

Yes I have a file but am unsure how to upload. I have read "Where can I upload my images?", but from what I can see this for viewing only and I am sure that you will need the file?
