It is so basic node editing it is easier to draw then to describe how it was drawn.

Used more things than one would normally do, as it can be drawn with the pen tool completely.
Weapons were ellipse tool, star tool, rectangle tool, transformation panel, booleans of paths, node editor, path and fill panel.
By shortkeys: F5, *, F4, Shift+Ctrl+M, Ctrl++, F2, Shift+Ctrl+F.

Look up some tutorials, I suggest.

You have two choices in learning things:

1. Lookig up all available material.
Did you go through the tutorials at inkscape's homepage?

2. Experiencing.
Try the possibilities with the tools the program has.
As I mentioned, the pen tool along with the node editing tool can cover your needs here.

Don't let anything hold you back.

Hi.

Rough Camera Outline;

Feel free to use;
SVG Image
Right click image to save.

Lazur URH;
Needs lots of work as it was made to plot on an egg using eggbot.
Main objective is to have continuous lines to avoid lifting pen (slow).
Thanks for showing how to embed a svg file from dropbox!
This looks good on an egg though!

Nice nikon!

Designed this app icon a while ago:

It was based on Jim Marshall's leica:

These are fun to draw, but have not much to do with a business card.

We should see the whole sketch from LT72884.
But then again, as seen in a signature here:

Lol, i know some things with the pen tool and nodes, but what im not seeing is how the star tool and what not was used for yours. I looked up boolean paths for inkscape but it talked about boolean programing and the doctor who created it. I dont know enough terminolgy to understand what you used boolean operations or paths for.

In order for a man to eat for a life time, he must be taught to fish the correct way. Giving him a pole is just the begining.
I am continuing to look up tutorials to see what i can find. I will post me findings. Thanks

SVG Image

Raster images are embedded to that svg, that somehow are not displayed through chrome.
View it through firefox, or download it by clicking on it.

It is how I drew that previous image.
It's not a "must". It was just my workflow.

AHHH, i see what you did. thanks for the example. i completed mine using just biezer tool. couldnt find pen tool so i used beizer tool which i assume is the pen tool the version of inkscape i have calls it the biezer tool. I must have a different version of inkscape (the newest one) cuz my octagon and star tools are seperate from eachother, hence the confusion i had. haha. I knew where the other shapes were being used except for the star tool. but now i know.

I will be reading about boolean paths for sure from the link posted because the ones i found on google refere to the programming part of inkscape.. boolean operators and so forth..

thanks for the hints and tips. i knew where to find all the panels, windows and options but going threw hundreds of them with no idea if it will work because some options only work with some tools was also throwing me off. but i will figure it out sooner or later.

here is the finished product using the pen tool and arcs.

Image

thanks guys. i know that the previous posts were not meant to be condescending. its all good

LT72884, you've been extremely lucky in this forum, to have found people to practically spoon feed you what you need, for several very specific projects with Inkscape. Something you said in a recent message has made me realize you're practically a kid (if not, in fact, a kid). So as a means of adding some maturity to your thought process, please read this message: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=745. I think you'll find it extremely helpful in forums like this, which the majority of members are adults. We usuallly think we're addressing adults, when we write our replies. (Be sure to save in your Favorites/Bookmarks, for future reference.)

I know I've referred you to my forum signature on at least a few different occasions. But now knowing your approx. age, I understand why that wasn't enough to lead you to the info you need. So here's more detail:

  1. If you go to Help menu > Inkscape manual > Quick Start, that entire chapter contains several Inkscape tutorials, which followed 1 by 1, will teach you the basic Inkscape skills and techniques, which would have answered any of the questions you've asked. Start with the first 1 and when you've finished that one, do the next, etc.
  2. Another resource is Help menu > Tutorials. Those can also be followed, starting with the first and moving on to the next, and will also provide you all the basic info and techniques.
  3. The Quick Guide to Inkscape (link in my sig) is not a tutorial. It's more of a manual. But it's written very simply and clearly, which might be easier for you to understand, than the manual in the Help menu.

Homework:
Please complete #1 and #2 before you start your next Inkscape project....or at least before you post a new topic in this forum.

I won't be checking your homework :lol: But I'll know whether you're learned from it, by the next topic you start, and what you ask ;)

Also, it seems you might need to learn how to make a screenshot. I seem to recall screenshots in other topics of yours, so I'm not sure why you actually took a photo of your screen in this topic. But just in case, please see this: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=11753 :D
