It's a campaign logo to preserve environment during trail running competitions where often the runners (!) throw away their garbage along the paths

Ok, this is my opinion, and I probably couldn't do any better but,

-I think the legs are too fat, so is the lower torso.
-Is the trash can supposed to be a backpack, because that's what it looks like.

yes, trail running requires backpack. and trash can took its place

I don't think it's too bad. I certainly can't think of a better way to illustrate it except for maybe illustrating some shoulder straps to for the bin--I would do this using a cutaway effect rather than drawing white straps. I think this might better illustrate what that is at his back... or it might make the whole drawing look like crap

I like the idea very much. Only the shapes need a bit tweaking, like the others said adjust legs and torso, they also seem disconnected to me. Try adding a couple of lines on the basket to make it look more like a trash can. I would also change the top swooshing line to make it more swooshing, right now its too solid and it can look like an umbrella or something above the man.
